When I buy fish at the Asian markets, they are often mislabeled and difficult to identify. I recently bought a couple of frozen fish labeled "Butterfish". While roughly the shape of butterfish, they were clearly not butterfish.

Careful examination of all characteristics led me to believe this fish was related to Milkfish and Carp - though not at all shaped like either - so I started intensively researching all relatives of Carp and Milkfish (suborder Ostariophysi).

Found it! It's a Piranha.

Those are one of my most common typos - difficult to notice on my screen after editing a sentence.

I've been working on reorganizing the fish pages for months, but almost none of the new stuff is up on the site yet. It won't all be finished for months yet, but I hope to get the new pages up this weekend in usable form. I'm checking the cross-links today.

I'm also going to buy a search engine for the site so stuff can be found. I've spotted one for about $100 that should work well.
