CBDTPA (the "Consumers Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act" -- though there's nothing "consumer" friendly about it) is the ill-begotton bastard chile' of the SSSCA which I and Ben Tilly discussed here beginning early September. It was a discussion that got swept away in the events of the 11th.

This law would stop free software dead. It's remarkably ill-conceived. It's complete and utter sell-out to Hollywood. I'm shamed that Feinstein is a co-sponsor.
