New Re: Any IBM Mainframe Utility hacks here?
I am guessing cost cutting is the reason its being removed.

Are you using it for space reuse?

Can you convert to PDSe from PDS to get the added benefits?

Are you using it in a single SYSPLEX (PDSe good)? vs Multiple-SYSPLEX or any MONOPLEX (PDSe bad)

Yes cost is reason...

I am doing a lot of code analysis. I was using PDSMAN to dump the contents of PDSs to a dataset which gets downloaded to a PC for analysis.

PDSMAN generated "reports" with contained the library name and member name. I can dump PDSs to a dataset, but then I've lost the member name and/or library name.

straight dump ends up

ABDS PROC
...
...
BDDD PROC
...
...
ETC

now if the developers had always put the proc name as the DDName then I wouldn't have an issue. However.... ABDS does not mean the proc name...

Even worse when analyzing MF JCL.
New bleah....
Way outside anything I've even attempted to do.

LOL

I get that a LOT. I always try to stretch the functionality of a given tool.

When all you have is a hammer, you creative in its usage.

Thanks for looking.
