I just ordered an SX10. I should get a chance to play with it this weekend.
I ended up making a choice between it and the Panasonic FZ28. The tiny P&S cameras are nearly as expensive and they aren't as flexible, so I decided to go with a superzoom. The Panasonic is about $30 cheaper, smaller and lighter, but it looks like a toy in Gordon's video at CameraLabs. It seems to be too small to hold with more than 2 fingers! The images also look worse to my eyes at high magnification (more isolated noise). I also really like the fact that the SX10 uses AA batteries, and that I'll be able to use my Canon SpeedLite if the need arises.
