While it is true that the atrocities committed by the Far Left are equivalent to the atrocities committed by the Far Right, the Far Left remains morally superior. This is so because the extreme Leftist commits his atrocities because he is convinced that everyone will be better off for his actions. The extreme Rightists commits his atrocities because he is convinced that he, himself will be better off for his actions. The leftist is motivated by a sense of community, the rightest is motivated by greed.

Although you can still find some apologists for Stalin who argue that "Stalin did what he had to in order to drag the Soviet Union into a modern world," my statements hold more for the foot-soldiers than the captains.
