New Thanks -- an interesting SSD history found
en passant:
https://knol.google....e/agcgl3d72o7h/3#

(I remember The Sharp PC-5000, introduced in 1983, used 128 kilobyte (128 KiB) solid-state storage cartridges, containing bubble memory..
Had one briefly -- mainly for the bubble memory as commercial item! It was really slow, though.)

Then ran across this alternate, apparently STEC

Pity the Dell's not SATA, eh? Like:

== big Sale too, for 128 GB. Yeah: not-PATA..

Can't quite grok the iMac being >shrunk this far!<
Ha! think of the fun plonking self down amidst the Macbooks at your local overpriced latte purveyor;
I think that just might be worth a $5 cup of coffee.
