can be assigned to the same card. I think it might be able to use a different name, but I am not sure how to assign MySQL to a different IP address under Windows 2000? Just add another TCP/IP protocol to your network adapter and fill in the blanks.

[link|http://www.connectix.com|Connectix] has a Virtual PC trial for Windows that can run under Windows 2000, and use another Windows 2000 install via a virtual hard drive. It costs $199 to buy the VPC software license, and you cna boot into a virtual hard drive and install another copy of Windows 2000 Server. It will use more RAM, but as long as you got tons of it, it shouldn't matter. The VPC session can be assigned a different IP address, be seen as a different server, etc and run under the other server. Perfect for a test system, and you can scrap the whole thing by deleting the virtual hard drive file if you want to get rid of it quickly. For now download the trial, show your boss, and ask for the $199 in your budget to buy a copy.
