Almost always a reverse DNS lookup failure.
It's trying to figure out where you are coming from, name wise, and then timing out as it wanders the DNS tree.
I'm pretty sure the is a config option to ignore it, but the easy way out is the put
the IP you are coming from into the /etc/hosts
