If she boots to 9.x as opposed to OSX then downloads the update it might work. (all this right out of my ass)' thanx, bill My Dreams aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be

For one thing, OS 9 expects to have direct HW access, which OS X, of course, doesn't allow. Similarly, firmware updates also must be applied directly in OS 9.
