Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I've always said that the Russian Sherloc Holmes is the best
... and now it seems that the Queen agrees.

New Anything you say, Ensign Pavel Chekov.
New Vaguely insulting
Not worth the effort to figure out how precisely it is so.

New Obscure Star Trek TOS reference. You had to be there.

New I understood it.
New Maybe.. but I'd have to see him and Jeremy Brett consecutive
ly. I never buy 'Best' - only the possibility that a handful may be Peers at the Top (especially re musicians; probably actors too.) Being a peer of Brett would be as Best as it gets. IMO.

(And then we each get to decide which facet of 'Holmes's reputed multi-facets deserves a greater or lesser focus. Hopeless to compare, once beyond a certain level of native virtuosity.)

New Jeremy Brett Wins.
His Holmes game is strong!

Use P2P for legitimate purposes!
New Watching Brett now
Very different Holmes, much more uncomfortable to be around. Very good, though. On the other hand, Watson in there is also nastier than Russian version, and I think he fits better.

If I can get a subbed version of the Russian movies, I'll send it to you.

New Intriguing -
would be most grateful for a chance to see a take on the prototypical Sleuth - from the land of Gogol ("St. Petersburg Stories".) I would expect such a version of Mr. Holmes to be a dark character, perhaps as intricate as J. Brett (??) Certainly Nothing like Basil Rathbone's supercilious portrayal.. w/ court jester companion.
