New Finally got to see it
Got kidnapped by my son and his friend :-)

Opening Bit: Nobody can do squalor like Tim Burton.

Depp as Willy Wonka: Childlike. Girls have cooties. Ewww!

Love the Dentist/Father subplot (could those braces get any more complicated?).

Charlie: wonderful child actor...very natural.

Helena Bonham-Carter: nice teeth NOT!

Nice to see Charlie have a complete set of parents.

Oompah Loompahs: Much better than the originals. Catchy songs.

Disappointed with:
1) Mike Teevee. Even though it was good to have him hooked on video games, they didn't do a good enough job to connect him with the whole camera thing.

2)The Boat Ride. Wasn't scary at all. Couldn't read all the labels on the doors. The boat itself was cool, though.

Overall, good flick.

New I was disappointed in most of the kids
Veruka particularly - Julie Dawn Cole was so much brattier than the new one.
Ditto Mike TeeVee, too much computer geek, not enough boob tube addict. They also played him as just plain mean.
