Welcome to IWETHEY!

New It was on CNN again on New Years Day here in US.
Looked quite serious. I believe they said 150 homes were lost. The map shows it to more serious than the TV clips. An amazingly large area seems to have been burned down. I'm sure the short stuff grows back quickly, but the taller trees will take a while.

Stay alert and safe, our Aussie friends!

New Statistics recap.
The number of homes lost is 150-160, perhaps a shade higher. But whilst any homes lost is tragic for at least someone and certainly more than desired, the number of homes threatened at some point during all this is in the region of 10,000. And the number of lives lost seems to be a police officer and one emergency worker.
