New *snicker*
Actually, let me fully describe the problem:

I'm running Win2K in VMWare under SuSE 7.2... Now, when I want to use GRip to rip some audio CDs, Win2K fires up the benighted CD player when it detects the CD insertion.

:-)

New Well, I guess that means VMWare works pretty good
Wait, you're going to have to hack the registry on an instance installed in a virtual machine to keep it from controlling the CD drive through the ... my head hurts.

New Works pretty well too... ;-)
Especially now that I turned on DMA on my hard drive. I don't know why the distro installation programs never manage to find that one...

New You could disconnect the CD-ROM from VMWare.
I guess that would depend on how often you would need it in Win2K.
