New Maybe he just forgot to lie
something is disconnected up there. He seems more "deer in the headlights" all the time to me.

New I think his handlers don't care so much any more.
After all, it's not like he has to get elected again - he can piss off anybody.

New Not true
They gotta get through the midterm elections first.

I think the real problem that has him and them going over the top is that it's not going to take too long before people in the US SE start putting two and two together about typical Fed disaster response in the years before Bush and after.

Note to danreck: this is not partisan... after all, stuff happened under Reagan and they were up to the task. This is about the specific things that Bush has done. I think it has them nervous about how well the party might do in the US SE after this event.

New Clinton spoke about that in his biography
He saw firsthand as a governor how much emergency response mattered to people.

He therefore made it a priority when he was President to make sure that emergency response was effective.

Bush doesn't have the..quaint..adherence to the notion of competence that marked Clinton's administration.

Cheers,
Ben

New Try speaking more clearly..
;-)

Are you implying that quaint modifies the notion of Clinton's competence or, on that larger scale: almost any notion of competence, today might be characterized as quaint?.

(I'll save any rebuttal to a notion of Clinton's 'incompetence' for your clarification.) Should you deign to give one.

New No Election this year, thats why fla response was so fast

New I meant that "adherence to the notion of competence"...
was quaint in this day and age.

The current misadministration has hammered home the point that government is all about who you know, and not what you can do. :-(

Ben
