how do you preserve food to last thru the winter and cook the rotted stuff so you can scarf it down. You have rye grass, and roots, pigs, sheep and cows. Your preservatives were salt and vinegar. The vinegar was made from booze that even the healthiest boozers wouldnt swaller. I think they did fine for what they had.
