Saw LAX last September.
Flew US Airways and it wasn't that bad. But, I could have been lucky.

Maybe it was just me.
I got picked out for "Special Screening". I learned from that not to wear an AOPA hat to the airport when flying commercial.

I expected grief when my wife and I flew from CLT (Charlotte, NC) to ONT (Ontario CA) via IAH (cough, cough, gag, George Bush Intercontinental/Houston airport, Houston, TX), with one-way tickets. Point blank, I asked the the Continental counter person if there was anything I could do to avoid security hassles. I was told my name did not bring up any flags. It could we were saved by traveling with a carry-on dog (at an additional $80) that was not a terrier. :)
