ObLRPD: Is it me, or is the band getting bigger?

You are a bad man...
for those of us resisting.
Amazingly helpful -polite- bunch at info.apple == answers question re Where Go when things go bump in the night. Hmmm they don't seem even to Have a Flame Forum :-0
I'm sold. I haven't RRR'd someone's fucked-PC in over a year.. and notice that's about long enough that - I'd need to refer to notes to do it again. (Lovely Feeling, that :-) Thing is.. I don't WANT to do it again (even with offer of a free e-Machine, etc.)
It's just the $$ and the Decision: Cute mini; (memory Not from Apple) or i-book or i-Mac?? Thus the same old same old: get minimum that will do the relatively little I'll want to do -?- or go for the As(h)ton Martin and then Ramen diet... Those *%*^@ bloody Panorama displays are pure heroin [isn't there a 30" now? for the folks with a Rolex AND a Lotus Esprit]
Anyway.. the last dozen small threads are practically a Why Switch Now? answer. (And I'd ackshully 'upgraded' the RAM in a new shiny G-4, also plugged in a HD from a dead Dell - just by the braille method: then saw the sucker Recognized on reboot as hda1 (2?) !! 2 years ago) All that time to think: Hmmmm.
BUT ...
Ok bookmarks (huge == my dbase for many things / with notes) are just html; gotta be simple to convert mine.
e-mail! I imagine file formats are same on Intel, *nix, Apple versions of Moz or Firefox / T-Bird.
{sigh}

Don't forget the Genius Bars at the Apple Store

Belly up to the bar and talk to a real person who actually cares.

Wow
sounds sweet.
Not that I'm going to be seeing one of these in my neck of the woods anytime soon, of course.
We've got a locally owned PC store here that's somewhat like that. Good staff, like to be helpful, and want things fixed for customers ASAP. They figured out that the amount of time you spend trying to deny a return often ends up being more expensive than handling the RMA.

Must admit
The Apple Store is an awesome place.
Where I go, it is next to the Bose Store.
I can't afford to linger in that part of the Mall.

Fortunately, this is not a mall situation, and the Kingston Guitar Shop is quite a few blocks away...

Thanks - another good tip.
There was an Apple store in Santa Rosa; have to see if they've stayed, are part of the New Apple - or told them to fuck off after some '90s Corporate screwing.
No point in saving 5% on web for base machine; 'course even *I* know not to buy memory at Apple prices! Saved the G-4 owner a bundle for the second 500 MB stick, not to mention the $25? $50? "installation fee". That was a tilt in my mentation, at the time.
Why.. it's almost as if ..as if Doctors made house calls!! in 2005

Sweet store!
That's one long Genius Bar they have. The one in Houston's rather disappointing compared to that.
