New The smell of Napalm this morning
[link|http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=14920109&method=full&siteid=106694&headline=fallujah-napalmed-name_page.html|http://www.sundaymir...ed-name_page.html]

US troops are secretly using outlawed napalm gas to wipe out remaining insurgents in and around Fallujah.

News that President George W. Bush has sanctioned the use of napalm, a deadly cocktail of polystyrene and jet fuel banned by the United Nations in 1980, will stun governments around the world.

And last night Tony Blair was dragged into the row as furious Labour MPs demanded he face the Commons over it. Reports claim that innocent civilians have died in napalm attacks, which turn victims into human fireballs as the gel bonds flames to flesh.

"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."     --Albert Einstein

"This is still a dangerous world. It's a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mental losses."     --George W. Bush

New You ever seen Napalm?
That is some NASTY SHIITE!

I saw a demonstration where they dropped a 5 gallon "balloon" of it on a Rotting Dear Carcass in 29 Stumps out on range duty has some benefits... not many but some.

It was pretty...ummm COOOL for sufficiently Gross Level of COOL. The flesh was dripping off the bones, as it melted the corpse flesh.

There some things about Napalm, the smell of it reminds me of attending racetracks.

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]

New A bit light on details
Also, the "will stun" bit so far failed to materialize. Almost a week since the article.

Was it just bad reporting?

This guy's ahead of his time! He's using quantum programming methods: in universes where invalid data is passed to this function, it does not return. Thus you are ensured that you will only have valid data after calling it. Optimally you'd destroy the universe on failure, but computers haven't quite advanced to that level yet.

New They'll use plausable denail
from [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napalm|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napalm], napalm is
mixing an aluminum soap powder of naphthene and palmitate (naphthenic and palmitic acids) with gasoline.
while the Mark-77 firebombs used now is
These bombs contain a substance "remarkably similar" to napalm. This substance is made with kerosene and polystyrene.
Expect to hear Bush say something like "we used kerpoly, not napalm"

I hope you don't mind if I don't read this. I don't know if it's going where I don't want it to be going, but if it is going there, I *don't* want to go there, so the best place for me to be is here, not there, and here is where I'm staying.
