although he was leaning towards the regular procedure because recent studies have indicated that it may lead to better results.

Unfortunately, it is hard to get a good opinion on this. I know that this is a routine procedure commonly done but it is still a scary thought.

...I'd be inclined to go with the procedure that The Man With The Knife has had most practice at.
