New Re: The new ziwethey?
I started on a PHP version shortly before I got hired. The code is available under the Source link. It's quite unfinished, and I lack the time right now to do anything about it.

Additionally, I discovered that I really loathe PHP, so I wouldn't expect to find the motivation to finish that version very soon. ;-)

I started laughing and couldn't stop. A giggle still lurks in my gut.

(wipes eyes) Seriously, what would you rewrite this excellent example of programming in? (I do not think "excellent programming" is an exaggeration given the dufoids at Infoworld.) (actually if all software were written this well, a lot of us would be out of business.) (I haven't seen one burp, hiccup, or puke since I've been here! Geez, looking at code I've done, I'm embarrassed.)

New Knowing Scott?
I'd say a PostScript version.

Or sed. Or gawk. Or COBOL.

Peter, smack slap slap

Surely he wouldn't rewrite it in sed or Cobol. But gawk.... hmmmmmm....

New Anything besides PHP
Probably Python with some sort of web toolkit, or maybe Turbine/Velocity.

New "Turbine/Velocity"? Whazzat? Pointers? OK, I'l Google for it
New Aha, gotcha. Here's URLs, for anyone else who wants to know:
[link|http://jakarta.apache.org/turbine/index.html|[link|http://jakarta.apache.org/turbine/index.html|http://jakarta.apac...e/index.html]]

[link|http://jakarta.apache.org/velocity/index.html|[link|http://jakarta.apache.org/velocity/index.html|http://jakarta.apac...y/index.html]]

But those two were down when I tried to access them right now. These two seem to work:
