Welcome to IWETHEY!

New But, don't DO that.
Before you dive into the wonderful world of alien (you have to be root, btw), consider the merits of doing this. The package produced is not going to be a Debian package; it's just an RPM forced into dpkg format.

Find out if there's an actual Debian package that provides the functionality you need and use that if at all possible. Stepping outside the Debian system by using Alien really should be the method of last resort.

New RPM or source code tarball...
I tried the source code tarball last night.

It wants either tcpwrappers (header files in the standard header path), or PAM headers.

I tried both options to no-avail. Had a similar problem with ncurses headers, but was able to resolve it.

Might try alien and the binary distro again this weekend. BTW, I've been told no more work on this project, we WILL be implementing VPN, so any additional efforts are on my own time/dime.

New alien worked like a charm, Thanks!
My bsdftp client over SSL is now installed. It' down to a matter of finding the right commands now.

Thanks,

Glen
New Excellent! Just one question, though.
Is the Debian ftp-ssl package not the same thing?
