Film: Return of the King (Minor spoilers)
Overall, a fitting conclusion to an epic. The film is well done, if a little choppy due to the massive hackjob that obviously took place as the film got close to release. Gone are some of the parts tied to secondary characters, including a real resolution to Saruman. Still, the film works, and wraps up things nicely.
If there's one nit I have to pick with The Return of the King, it's that it adds to the increasing munchkinization of Legolas - with each film he becomes more and more superhuman, to the point where it's ridiculous. In Fellowship of the Ring, he's an elven archer. In The Two Towers, the horse mounting trick was neat, but the staircase slide was really cheesy. (especially given how he had just failed to drop a single uruk-hai with *TWO* shots) Return of the King takes Legolas to completely new heights of cheese, spoiling an otherwise visually incredible battle of Pelenor Fields, well, that, and the fact that Theoden is a tactical idiot. You'll know when you see it.
Despite those gripes, I love it. Thane (the fanboy) sez go see it. Then wait 6 months for the extended edition, and discard it in favor of the REAL way this film was meant to be seen, even if it means no potty breaks for 4.5 hours...

OT - I hate seeing English spelling change before my eyes...
Sorry, Thane, but "ridiculous" does not have the letter 'e' in it.

You are the whole brigade??
Perhaps you meant "e.g." instead of "i.e."?

In my books they definitely qualify as members of that brigade.

Where did we originally discover that trick?
I remember it from a long time ago, but forget which incarnation. Still when I saw that it would work here, there was a certain nostalgia.
