On Windows boxes it's best to do a fresh install on moving to new hardware due to the various drivers that may be different between the machines. I would think the same would apply to Debian as well. The key (which I knew I had seen before) was `dpkg --get-selections > file` on the old system, then `dpkg --get-selections < file` on the new system. Then `apt-get dist-upgrade` and I'm off to the races. === Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
