Welcome to IWETHEY!

New one was under oath the other was on tevee
the other had been attacking American civil rights will the glee not seen since hoover and the left stresses out about lying. If Sadaam admitted in his own documents submitted to the UN that he had WMD you wont be able to impeach the guy for going "See we believed him and attacked" The other issue is much more important, Jimmy Breslin points it out rather well

They held him secretly in an iron world for the next six weeks. This is plenty of time to hand out giant beatings. Oh, yes, don't gasp. If cops are performing a Fascist act, then always suspect them of acting like Fascists. They have fun beating people up.

questions, help? [link|mailto:pappas@catholic.org|email pappas at catholic.org]

As the Poets have mournfully sung.
Death takes the innocent young,
The rolling in money,
the screamingly funny,
And those who are very well hung.
W.H. Auden
New One caused enjoyment, the other thousands dead.
I don't differ w/you over the gravity of the situation re: the shredding of the Bill of Rights, I'm just pointing out that articles of impeachment were passed by the house for the "lie about sex", while no similar articles of impeachment have been drafted for the "lie that caused death".

Mikem

The soul and substance of what customarily ranks as patriotism is moral cowardice and always has been...We have thrown away the most valuable asset we had-- the individual's right to oppose both flag and country when he (just he, by himself) believed them to be in the wrong. We have thrown it away; and with it all that was really respectable about that grotesque and laughable word, Patriotism.

- Mark Twain, "Monarchical and Republican Patriotism"
New Under oath
An interesting interpretation is floating around the lefty sites right now. The lie about uranium from Niger was told during the State of the Union address, one of the few constitutionally mandated duties of the President of the US and therefore subject to the oath of office.

Parse the oath how you will, I doubt you will be able to say that lying to congress and the people of the US while performing the duties mandated in the constitution is an excusable action. Impeach him and every congresscritter who handed him the power to make war.

Where were you in 72?
New cool idea
since it was damn near unanimous...we can clean house by impeaching the lot of them.

We'd be left with one from California and not alot else.
If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

New Easily replaced from the 280M.__Nominations?
1) Mike Huber for Communications Director
2) Andy Grygus for Techno-BS Deconstructor / Overseer
2a) Ben Tilly for Details manager; Co-Chair
3) Rand Careaga for Something __ which demands historical and common-sense, because his mind works ~ to mine, and I can't be That unbiased.
4) . . .

The 'citizens' of the States will have to spend at least 3.5 minutes each, deciding just.. who.. among-the-Millions.. will likely do a vastly better job than did the (gutless, recently impeached, found guilty and ejected).

Replace the Electoral College method with (almost anything).
Remove ALL electronic voting devices which do not generate a paper trail in duplicate - into very well-made lockboxes.

Etc.

If we weren't a nation of feckless sheep - the above would be looked upon in the spirit of that old saw, Crisis == Danger + Opportunity. But of course, in tolerating for so long an AG who fears the sight of a naked statue, a nation which has become inured to and even embraces the inane mouthings of a Shrub: clearly we are that nation of feckless sheep.

Oh well. Can't work: never mind.
