New Similar with one exception

Session persistance.

\r\n\r\n

I run screen for virtually all of my remote access sessions. If anything happens to the connection (or I simply want to hang up for a while), I disconnect but do not close the screen session. Later, screen -r reconnects, and I can resume where I was (in mid edit if necessary). Ask peter or greg how long my screen sessions can last.... ;-)

\r\n\r\n

I suspect you may be able to do something similar using emacsclient, but, well, that's about a score more set of keys to learn....

\r\n\r\n

Speaking of which, an emacs user griping about learning keys is like a fish griping about water, isn't it?

New I've already learned the keys.
And they're the same for every buffer, for the most part. And for bash. And Mozilla. And every readline() program in existence.

Similar number of keys (and fewer in many instances), function for function, as vi. Without the modality.

I run screen for virtually all of my remote access sessions.
Heh. I just never disconnect. ;-)
