Someone recently pointed me at a website (BookCrossing) where people "register" books, then "release" them (either by leaving them in public places or sending them to people who want them). Books are journaled, a serial number and URL is pasted into the book, and the hope is that the book's journey from reader to reader would be recorded on the web site. The site also has a decent forum where books are discussed (though it's user interface pales in comparison to IWETHEY!).
