VERIZON HAD A SETBACK in its attempt to fight a court injunction from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after the Bush government took the trade association's side.
The US Justice Department filed a note with a DC district court yesterday supporting an injunction the RIAA had made to make Verizon's internet service provider wing reveal a person it alleges has been sharing music songs on the web.
Verizon had argued that the injunction violated the First Amendment, but the RIAA had sought the injunction under the controversial Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
