Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I wonder if it matters which disk goes back in which drive?

Is it enough to love
Is it enough to breathe
Somebody rip my heart out
And leave me here to bleed

Is it enough to die
Somebody save my life
I'd rather be Anything but Ordinary
Please

New There's one way to settle that...

Anyone got a USB hub and five floppy drives ;-)

My experience with RAID is that the disks themselves are marked in a way that the particular port they're connecting to is irrelevant. Whether this holds true in OS X SW RAID, I'm not sure.

\r\n\r\n

I'm as impressed as Peter by how easy OS X makes this.

What part of "gestalt" don't you understand?\r\n

New Indeed.
But that would not be me. Last time I looked, those drives were AU$120 each. I happened to have gotten one with my laptop, but that was expected. I also don't have a Mac... :-)

And one reason I thought of the question was because I've seen an IDE RAID card not see an array because the drives were connected in the wrong order. Daft, I know, but still...

Wade.

New you mean hot swappapable?
shouldnt matter since I would make a WAG that the drives are identifued to the OS my a identifier as opposed to the usb port it is on. Might work on linux because a disk is just an addressable file to the Nix platform.
thanx,

And she wasn't kidding, either, 'cause in came the biggest, meanest looking haddock I'd ever seen come down the pike. He was covered with mussels.
