Re: But we have more than one supply line.
Could it be that Bush's handlers misunderestimated the foe?

Could it also be...
...a (rather blatant) attempt at misinformation?
I, quite frankly, don't think that any top brass in the field would be talking to a reporter about "underestimating opposition" without a specific agenda in mind. These guys are trained a little too well for that.

Of course, the specific goal might be
to convince Rumsfeld et al that the shock and awe concept isn't working, and they need more troops yesterday.

Good point
Translated: hey, we're overextended, and you guys are kicking our butts quite a bit. We sure wouldn't want you to expose your tanks to our satellites and radar, oh no. Not that briar patch, sah. Nuh uh.

Sure. I trust that, with the exception of the appalling Marlowe, none of us here are pretending to deep expertise in these matters. It's fun to piss on one another, though.

Tanks? Snipers and landmines...
...are much more effective on supply convoys. You don't have to destroy 'em. You just have to disrupt 'em. Leaving the boys at the front hungry, thirsty, and low on ammo. \r\n\r\n IMO: we didn't think this out quite far enough, and need to move quickly or we're overextended.
