Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Enough about the friggin' Geneva Convention.
Abizaid may as well whine that Saddam has been gassing his own subjects, and tell him to stop it. The whole point of our being in there is that he doesn't give a damn about international treaties, common decency, or human life.

The Geneva Conventions are all more or less obsolete anyway. The very idea of war conventions is obsolete. Quit whining about how evil they are and just kill the Tikriti bastards. Then we can whine about how evil they *were* if it makes anyone feel better.
The future is leaving the station, the US is at the throttle, and the Left isn't on board.

New That's what distinguishes between the "good guys" and the
"bad guys".

I understand your problem in grasping this basic concept.

But then, you also lie about your past [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=90393|Your past comes back to haunt you.]
New You need to let go of this blind anger, man.
Your buddy Saddam and his Ba'ath and Republican Guard cronies are going down, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Their victims will be set free from this tyranny you love, and there's nothing you can do about that. The terrorists hidden in Iraq will be flushed out, the chemical pnats and SCUD launchers will be eliminated, and there's nothing you can do to save them.

Your side has lost. It lost the moment we gave up on diplomacy. And its loss became inevitable in the days after 9/11. Just accept it. You'll feel better.

Sometimes, just starting to fight back properly is the real battle. In which case it's already fought and won...

Because you have trouble answering the questions.

I'm not trying to save them.

I'm asking you why they aren't being used now that Saddam's life is in danger.

Bush wouldn't hesitate to use nukes if the situation were reversed.

So, why isn't Saddam doing the same?
New Man you're messed up
Attributing a pro-Saddam to a guy who is just maintaining a healthy dose of skepticism makes you look foolish. Keep your point of view if you want. I think you're a natural born goose-stepper but whatever. Go rat on your parents the the homeland security officer for awhile. You're not making any points here.

New Careful throwing stones.
If they do violate the convention, will we take them to task at the Hague? Is that what it will take for us to recognize the World Court? Would we really do that given our own violations of international law? I don't think so.

Osama bin Laden's brother could fly in US airspace 9/15/01, but I had to wait for FBI and CIA background checks, 'nuff said?
New Only person I've heard implore the Geneva Convention
Is the US. Seems some troops took a wrong turn and got captured. Now bushie and co are saying "Geneva Convention says treat them nice or we'll have to come and get you".
