New Cisco question
We have a Cisco 2524 which has 2 T1s on it. It is the core corporate router to the internet.

We experience severe degradation when both T1s are running at about 60%. According to my net admin, the router is hitting 99%/52% CPU utililzation.

1) - Why 2 numbers? Are there 2 CPUs?
2) Is this thing capable of handling 2 fully loaded T1s?
3) If so, how can it be misconfigured to not be able to?
4) If not, what are my alternatives?
New how are you load balancing would be the first question
a cisco is a swaitch fabric populated by inteligent cards yours has 2 t1 cards which supply trafic accross the fabric to your inside net. if you want email me the running config and I would take a look at it. What does your netmin think the problem is?EDIT please repace ip addresses with x.x.0.1 and y.y.02 so I can see the relations

New Can't provide config
At least not yet.
Not ready to step on those toes.

The T1s are not balanced, they are kept isolated. That is all the info I have at this
point.
New one in and one out or one set of addy on one
and the rest on the other?

New Re: one in and one out or one set of addy on one
I believe both have a set of addresses and are fully bidirectional. We have general corp web surfing, light inbound web traffic for a few customers to specific web applications, and "production" FTP, it, lots of heavy FTP traffic going both directions.

We have a 3rd T1 that is usually email only on a different router.

I got bottlnecked on getting a file via FTP from a vendor. So I was given an account on the email server just to pull the file over the 3rd T1. But I would rather the other actually works! We have a bunch of "production" people who are supposed to be moving stuff around. I only got involved when my project was going to be late because the file was not showing up, and then I screamed loud enough to be given an account on the email server just for FTP. Not the norm!
New Is ftp being served to the one T1? that could be the issue?
