Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Worked my fingers to the bone...
Well, after I did the "quick fix" for jbrabeck, IIRC, I went ahead and reworked the whole forum page using basic CSS2.

I have a sample page [link|http://www.aminus.org/rbre/iwethey/ziwethey.htm|here] and its corresponding CSS file [link|http://www.aminus.org/rbre/iwethey/ziwethey.css|here] if anyone is interested. I realize some of the actual generated code would have to change to support this, but IMO making this move now means easier maintenance in the future. Let mw know what you all (meaning Scott ;) think.

T.S.

Edit: Letting you all know I fixed some image links that were not pointing back to iwethey.org. Looks better now.

T.S.P.S. - what are the blocks for .odd and .even doing in the CSS? Where are they used? Or is it just a transitional thing from [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=251|Wade's suggestion] and nobody's gotten around to rewriting the HTML?

New Oh, and...
I tried my best to write it so it would degrade gracefully for older browsers. I tested it on IE 5.0 and Moz 1.3. If you have issues with another browser, please let me know.

New Looks good for the most part
I've been planning on doing that for a while, but as I said to Ross, new stuff is on hold while I do a rewrite.

As far as even and odd go, look at the source for this page, not the forum page. :-)

New Ah, yes...
This page. Got it.

Another P.S. - I shoved the New Topic button in on the first command row, and left it as text on the bottom row. I personally prefer getting rid of it altogether, but there may be a good reason for keeping it..? TRADITION!

New Only reason to keep it is tradition.
But I don't really care for where you put it. ;-)

New Better...
Top right box is too crowded, though: it wraps on this display, and I'm running in 1400.

Typically I try things in 640 and 800 just to make sure.

New Well, it's supposed to wrap.
I "tried it" (resized my window) all the way down to about 100 pix wide. Does it look exactly the same at 800x600 as 1600x1200 (which is what I run)? No; but it shouldn't. It should be viewable and usable at both and all sizes in-between.

Now, if your concern is the little separator bars looking dorky at various wrap points, *that* we can fix. :)

New I try to avoid wrapping when possible.
There's no reason for it to wrap on a display like this.

Note that it seems to wrap better than the current setup does at low resolution. However, if we're going to fix this, we ought to do it right. :-)

New I'm not a graphic artist
Which should be painfully obvious from this site. ;-)
