Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Scott and others comments needed...
I am looking at making zope restart with crontab every 5 minutes, first checking to see if it is there, then running the stop and start scripts if not... of course as the user not root... :)

#!/bin/sh\n\nzdope=`ps awx|grep zope|grep -v grep|wc|awk '{print $1}'`\n\nif [ "$zdope" = "0" ]; then\nexec /the/zope/home/stop\nexec /the/zope/home/start\nexec /usr/bin/logger "Zope for *Z* has been restarted!"\nfi\nexit 0

Whatchya think... kind lean... no error handling...

This all resulted from my restarting zope this morn... to get me thinking...

New To eliminate
the having to login and restart zope evey so often...

It should check to see if it is still there... if not start it...

I restarted Zope this morn... as it wasn't responding and I ssh'd in no python at all.. :)

stop and start worky well... Or do you just want to keep it a manual process?

New Well, you didn't say that... :-P
That's a problem that needs to be fixed, not something to cover up with frequent restarts.

New Won't do anything.
It's not the application, nor the machine. It's the web search engines hammering the server.
