Excerpt:
March 10, 2003 -- In a move that has alarmed top U.S. officials, Iran has begun the process of building a nuclear arsenal right under the nose of the U.N. watchdog agency, sources said.
"Right now, the [International Atomic Energy Agency] is discovering, as a result of . . . intelligence made available, that Iran has a far more robust program for the development of nuclear weapons than the IAEA thought," Secretary of State Colin Powell told NBC's "Meet the Press."
The bombshell allegations come on the heels of last month's visit to Tehran by IAEA director Mohamed ElBaradei, who reported the country was building a plant that can enrich uranium.
The IAEA has now concluded that Iran has tested the gas in centrifuges at an undisclosed location, which is in violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, sources said.
I say:
When we've dealt with Saddam, the regime in Iran may fall. Or not. Anyway, they're on the list, so we'll get to them.
So, tell me again why people should believe the IAEA when they give some despot a clean bill of health?
