Sorry--I assumed it was the incoming water line.
I was talking about polybutylene. That was the class action stuff. I had to get my house re-piped this past fall because of it after one of the fittings sprung a leak. The water treatment was eating the acetyl fittings.
I'm glad to hear your work got done. It sucks not to have water (or not be able to use it).
I looked-up that orangeburg stuff you referenced, and it sounds downright nasty.
