New Treason = War crimes?
What was it she did? My memories of it had her protesting the war by posing for pictures in N. Vietnam. Was she aiding and abetting the enemy? I suppose you could spin it that way. Just like some are doing now by accusing protesters of treason.

War crimes is a different matter. An absurd stretch that isn't going to cut it.

New The worst she did.....
was "aiding" their anti-US propaganda.

She was filmed sitting in one of their anti-aircraft guns.

A really stupid thing to do, but she's an actress. And there seem to be only two or so people here who think that actors'/actresses' opinions are worth anything.

If anything, she was guilty of low-grade treason for "aiding" their propaganda.

"War crimes" are things like genocide, murder, rape and so forth.

But if our current regime wants to define something as a "war crime", they just have to get that definition through Congress and the Judges.

Which does not appear that difficult to do now.
New a link to what she did(and didnt) do

appears to get the lies straight from the actual facts. Tokyo Rose was charged and convicted of treason for similar acts. I think Jane got a pass because of her name, but on the other hand, without her name it wouldnt have been useful to the NVA.
thanx,

New Thanks for source.
You can spin it as treason if you want to. Others can spin it as misguided protest. But charges were never brought and, according to Beep's definition, since she wasn't convicted, she did nothing wrong.

New I think a case could be made for "treason".
But I have not seen anything that would qualify as "war crime".

And, as for "treason", the same could be said for just about anyone protesting any war (or possible war). As long as the "enemy" gets it on camera and can "use" it in their propaganda.

But we've already passed that point.

Our own government has told us that we'd better watch what we way.
New Here we go again.
This is the part where the "intellectuals" will start crying and whining about you lying and misrepresenting...yadda yadda.

If you would like to continue misrepresenting my opinion based upon your complete lack of knowledge regarding the law...please feel free.

It is...however...tiresome at best.

New Sorry, forgot to add the "nudge"
Even though I am still pissed at you for calling me a liar because my opinion of the law doesn't agree with your opinion of it. Since neither of us are experts in this field, I decided to let it go, reluctantly. I'll still twig you on it though.

New Apologies.
Not really calling >you< anything...as I think you know. Thats more of a statement on the truly sad methods that some (not you) have used to avoid honest debate.

We can agree to disagree on legality if you want (as long as I still know I'm right :-))...

And I probably should have included my own nudge as well.

New Actually I always considered the Tokyo Rose
charges to be unjust.

Any investigation into how the Japanese treated their prisoners of war and it becomes readily apparent that if she had not complied with their wishes she would've ended up dead or worse.
