New Cowboys welcome in Kurdistan
OpEd [link|http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A57919-2003Jan28.html|here] at the Washington Post.

"Occupy us -- please!" a Kurdish man on the street demands of an American visitor. Indeed, the main fear of Iraqi Kurds I spoke to is that Washington will not attack.

"Iraqi officials warn us that Bush is all talk, that America will not invade," says Ismet Aguid, a former Iraqi foreign service officer. "But we remain optimistic."

It's an interesting read.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Now lets get realistic ...

So US invades as these people are 'begging'.

Then when the streets aren't paved with gold & the US troops or proxies become the new authority & they aren't allowed to migrate freely to the US and they are pretty much in the same life condition they were in before,

Then someone gets angry, next some decide to attack US troops. Just go visit Kuwait to find out how grateful they are & how realistic these claims for liberation usually are. What you may not know is the number of incidents occuring in Kuwait over the past year that don't make it into the US press.

This is a challenge to you to come up with some realistic argument to add credence to your post. I think you are being very naive, seriously.

Cheers Doug
