New Does say one true thing
The first part of the article is nothing more then stupid mockery. The author tries to insult protestors for having a sense of humor, making fun of the government and having fun while protesting.

But the author does make one valid point.
Swapping Saddam for a less psychopathic Saddamite who forswears extraterritorial ambitions and agrees only to a little light terrorism of his own people would be a total waste of time. It's not about Saddam any more than it was about Osama bin Laden (1957-2001). The issue for the West is how to dismantle not Saddam's warheads but the system that produces the Saddams and Osamas.

Of course when it comes to the question of what the system is and how to dismantle it, the author carefully avoids any mention of US involvment in putting Saddam in power. This has to be avoided because admiting it would require admiting that dismantling the system that created Saddam and Osama would require removing much of the current White House and total restructuring of US foreign policy.
