New UN betrays would-be defectors
[link|http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030125/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_compound_incident_12|Naked complicity]

Excerpts:

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two men \ufffd one carrying three knives, the other a notebook and shouting "Save me!" \ufffd tried to enter the U.N. inspectors' Baghdad compound in separate incidents Saturday morning but were apprehended and turned over to Iraqi authorities, U.N. officials said...

As he waved his arms frantically, the first two vehicles swerved around him, but the third stopped, journalists said. "Save me!" he shouted in Arabic and English, after which he was allowed to enter the vehicle. He was carrying a copybook, witnesses said.

Appearing agitated and frightened, the young man, with a closely trimmed beard and mustache, sat inside the white U.N.-marked utility vehicle for 10 minutes. At first, an inspection team leader sought help from nearby Iraqi soldiers, but the man refused to leave the vehicle as the uniformed men pulled on his sleeve and collar.

"I am unjustly treated!" he shouted.

Then U.N. security men arrived, and they and Iraqi police carried the man by his feet and arms into the fenced compound, the journalists said. Ueki said the man was turned over to Iraqi authorities at a government office adjacent to the compound. The spokesman said the man's notebook was empty, but he had no further comment on his identity or purpose.

I say:

Okay, UN apologists. What have you to say now regarding this?

The trouble with the French is they have no word for "roulons."
CHICKENHAWK! Scourge of clucking hens everywhere!
Victory is the answer. There are no alternatives.
Where's Abdul Rahman Yasin?

New Read the story.
"He was carrying three knives and a piece of metal," Ueki said. "He was handed over to the Iraqi police. He is being interrogated by police." Ueki said he had no further details, including what kind of metal implement the man may have carried.
An armed Iraqi is running up to you.

What do you do?

Or have you forgotten Iraq's ties to suicide bombers in al Queda?

You can't have it both ways.
New Nice try.
He made it perfectly clear he was seeking asylum. And he had to be armed to even get that far alive. Saddam's Iraq is not the sort of place where a dissident can go about unarmed.

New You mean suicide bombers cannot lie?
He made it perfectly clear he was seeking asylum.
Hmmm, I seem to recall that certain hijackers lied to gain access to this country.

But Iraqi terrorists cannot lie?

Is that your position?

And he had to be armed to even get that far alive.
Really? How many people did he have to fight with those knives to get to the UN people?

So, if an armed Iraqi tells someone he isn't a terrorist, then that person should believe the armed Iraqi?

But Saddam has said that Iraq ........

And he's an armed Iraqi.

But you don't believe him?

Like I said, you can't have it both ways.
New My, you're desperate.
You really think it's plausible that there are pro-Saddam suicide bombers to be found in Iraq?

New Do >I< think that? No. But that IS your position.
You really think it's plausible that there are pro-Saddam suicide bombers to be found in Iraq?
You are the one going on about how this isn't about oil.

And about how al Queda has links to Iraq.

And so forth.

Unless your original position about those "links" was that al Queda HATES Iraq?

No, that can't be. Because that was my position. Iraq is far too secular for al Queda.

But now, when it suits your NEW agenda, you're happy to claim that Iraq does NOT have anyone who would give his life to hurt the US.

cookoo cookoo cookoo.
New Yep, count on you to be a jackass to the end.
I've already addressed the question of al Qaeda in Iraq, though it does serve your agenda to pretend otherwise. Your failure to answer - or even to acknowledge - this amounts to an admission that they really aren't going to be able to withstand us outdoors, any better than they did in Afghanistan, not even if Saddam gives them VX canisters. (For the benefit of onlookers, I reiterate and expand: As before, we'll be moving too fast for them. They won't be able to find our troop concentrations while they're still concentrated. They won't be able to find our base camps before they've moved on. They'll be lucky to take out the patrols that are taking them out. Also, no caves this time, and no backstabbing French, ergo no Shar-i-Kot repeat.)

Everybody knows what your game is. We know what planet you're broadcasting from, and it ain't Earth.

Hell, for all we know you could be fantasizing about having been in the Army, pathetic as such a fantasy would be. And your failure to make it better by claiming to have gone to war - or anything else the slightest bit courageous - can be attributed to a poverty of imagination. Or maybe you were [link|http://www.theonion.com/onion3502/very_special_forces.html|part of this outfit].

Cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo yourself. You're pathetic. Go back to your crib.
The trouble with the French is they have no word for "roulons."

New Off in your delusion again?
I've already addressed the question of al Qaeda in Iraq, though it does serve your agenda to pretend otherwise.
You have claimed that Iraq has ties to al Queda.

Your failure to answer - or even to acknowledge - this amounts to an admission that they really aren't going to be able to withstand us outdoors, any better than they did in Afghanistan, not even if Saddam gives them VX canisters.
Please try to maintain at least some connection to Reality.

If Saddam had VX, why would he NOT give it to people to use against us when we invade?

(For the benefit of onlookers, I reiterate and expand: As before, we'll be moving too fast for them. They won't be able to find our troop concentrations while they're still concentrated. They won't be able to find our base camps before they've moved on. They'll be lucky to take out the patrols that are taking them out. Also, no caves this time, and no backstabbing French, ergo no Shar-i-Kot repeat.)
Again, chemical weapons are used to deny avenues of approach and to channelize enemy forces.

All Saddam has to do is to hand out those cannisters (how many TONS did you say were unaccounted for) to the people you say are linked to him and they go out and wait along the routes.

We won't be moving "too fast" when the cloud is directly in front of our troops.

Hell, for all we know you could be fantasizing about having been in the Army, pathetic as such a fantasy would be.
Maybe. But I've provided units and dates.

I have no need to hide my past.

You are the one who is trying to pretend she is someone she is not.

I've been through live agent training at Ft. McClellan.

I've done battlefield simulations with smoke.

You? You have your Sgt. Rock comics and your fantasies.
