New Here in Houston he is
don't know about the rest of the country.

Apple's picked up on him though, this [link|http://www.apple.com/hardware/video/powerbookg4bigandsmall.html|powerbook ad](quicktime) is quite funny. Here's an article about it - [link|http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/special/yao/1727879|Apple ad leads a bevy of Yao-endorsed products].

New Interesting - using Ming in ads guarantees China coverage

I can see why Apple would have been more than happy to choose him.

Advertising has become one of the great measures of change in China which in just 12 years has gone from *almost no* TV & billboards to being *almost more* commercial than many parts of the US (amazing claim but true).

The growing wealthy middle class in China will quickly become the largest set of consumers & tourists in the world & will if not already, become the tagrget for tourism around the world. Aust, NZ, SE Asia, France are just a few countries I know of who are openly stating that Chinese tourism is going to quickly become their dominant supply of tourists.

So I see Ming Yao as being more important in advertising than normal.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out - he already seems destined to become China's Tiger Woods/ M Jordan (in image & earning potential)

Cheers

Doug
