Anyway, I'd like to see any of the pro-invasion people justify voting against this. And we will be in Iraq and Afghanistan for a long time. Little Joey and Suzy will have chance of being stationed over there when they hit (whatever age it is). That means little Joey and Suzy might be coming back in a body bag. It's easy to call for war when you and your's aren't at risk.

So should only those at risk (active duty & reserve military) decide when we go to war? I believe I used the words "you and your's" in my post. Killing people is serious business. Ordering the killing of people is serious business. Ordering other people to risk their lives to kill people is serious business. It's a lot easier to do when you and your's are not in any risk whatsoever. Once the possibility that you and your's might be one of those being ordered to risk your life to kill people, the concept becomes concrete. No, not "only those at risk ... [should] decide when we go to war". But, those deciding when we should go to war, should also be at risk in it.
