Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Hello to all from SteveOC in OZ
I have a lot of hellos to all - evyerone from the old IW forums, and friends in between.

DRLunsford, Ashton, Malreaux, etc, etc .. there is still a beer in the fridge with your name on it.

Jerry has been rather quiet recently, I thought that he had all but given up hope, but surprise - surprise, he is still active and scheming up new excuses for the new year. Its amazing in this day and age, but there are still lots of Jerry's around. I will relate some stories when time permits.

Since we last spoke, life has thrown me a few major changes on the home front that are still sorta in progress .. will expand on that one later.

On the Linux front, I have managed to pull off a major coup of pretty mammoth proportions, but it took 3 years of hard advocacy and coding to acheive .. glad to say that the dream is now a reality. I have now moved on to find new fields to bang the drums of advocacy in .. hope to acheive a new conversion in the next coupla months, against some very entrenched opposition .. but you know that I can do it !

So Merry XMas and all that - looking fwd to meeting some old friends in the new year. Have a safe holiday period, and dont eat or drink too much.

SteveOC

Where the frick have YOU been? Out playing aboriginal? Did you see the recent eclipse? I tried to explain to your fellow cobbers what an amazing sight the moon's shadow would be, rushing in across the ocean at 5000 kph in front of the setting, dying Sun. Thought of you then.

Welcome back! This is a good omen. Next, we get back Nick and Yaz.

New Re: Hello to all from SteveOC in OZ

Hi Steve, long time no hear !!

Was down there 1st week of Dec - watched bushfires spring up all around where we were (Turramura near Hornsby Sydney) - had to cancel visit to friends at Glenorie as their house nearly burnt down & the auth had sealed off the roads.

Was happy to come back to HK :-)

Anyway - hope you have a good New Year down there.

Cheers

Doug Marker
New Maybe *we* could meet next time you visit :-)
I live in Sydney's south and work in Ryde.

New Hope to be back in Jan, Ryde is so close

I will be going to NZ to see two newborns (grandchildren) - rather timely. Sadly last week we lost my mother but she had lived a long & healthy life. Last 2 years demetia had set in & she had trouble remembering who we all were.

I managed to visit her 2 weeks before she passed away (5 days ago). Was sad to see how frail she had become but was (in hindsight) very pleased I had got to visit her a few times before it happened.

She had a great Wake.

Cheers

Doug
