Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Who you calling non-name-brand, Johnny-come-lately?!?
BOxley gibbers:
well I have [t]ried other not name brand equivelents
So you've never heard of *Victorinox*???

I'd submit that that's not a problem with their "name-brand"-ness, but with your Allgemeinbildung.

and found the assembly and quality shoddy so I know if I order a leatherman I would be assured of a quality product.
Yeah, right... As if some bloody *Yanks* could ever beat THE SWISS for "quality product"!

AS _I_F_!!!

Mechanisation

As our souls are slowly stolen
The wheels of progress keep steamrolling
Mechanisation melts our minds
To drive the furnace that drives us blind. -- [link|http://www.vergenet.net/~conrad/poetry/mechanisation.html|© Conrad Parker, 1993]
New Allgemeinbildung? all german Bill crap?
Seriously, I was not refering to "the" Swiss army knife but the multitudes made in china, maylasia, korea and hootersville NC that are red, carry a swiss cross in the middle and are advertised as swiss army knives. When looking at the link I did not look to see if it was "The" Swiss army knifes, just recalled the bad luck I have had with their replica's. "The" swiss army knife is a model of craftmanship and a good to have tool not only in this field but in many. It is almost as good as a handcrafted blade by Mathias Heide which is a good swiss-american name. Ginzu knifes are good also.(sign! sign!)
thanx,
