found the assembly and quality shoddy so I know if I order a leatherman I would be assured of a quality product.

I had something similar happen to me. I had a (admittedly) cheap one as well and managed to break it in less than 3 months. Snapped the pliers right in half so I had 2 pieces of tool instead of one.

Apparently, I have hands that don't always realise when they're applying too much pressure on something. I sometimes shear off 1/2 inch thick bolts because I'm trying to get the nut tight.

Much like meters, I will order a fluke.
