Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Oh, I've been there briefly
But I'm more interested in why a Leatherman over this device. Have you had both, or is it just brand loyalty?

So far (and I haven't picked the site apart yet), I don't see a Leatherman that has all the features of the Cybertool 34.
New well I have ried other not name brand equivelents
and found the assembly and quality shoddy so I know if I order a leatherman I would be assured of a quality product. Much like meters, I will order a fluke.
The other one might bee fine. Try it out and let us know.
thanx,

New Ah, now I understand.

I had something similar happen to me. I had a (admittedly) cheap one as well and managed to break it in less than 3 months. Snapped the pliers right in half so I had 2 pieces of tool instead of one.

Apparently, I have hands that don't always realise when they're applying too much pressure on something. I sometimes shear off 1/2 inch thick bolts because I'm trying to get the nut tight.

Much like meters, I will order a fluke.

Agree 100%.
New Who you calling non-name-brand, Johnny-come-lately?!?
BOxley gibbers:
well I have [t]ried other not name brand equivelents
So you've never heard of *Victorinox*???

I'd submit that that's not a problem with their "name-brand"-ness, but with your Allgemeinbildung.

Yeah, right... As if some bloody *Yanks* could ever beat THE SWISS for "quality product"!

Mechanisation

The wheels of progress keep steamrolling

New Allgemeinbildung? all german Bill crap?
Seriously, I was not refering to "the" Swiss army knife but the multitudes made in china, maylasia, korea and hootersville NC that are red, carry a swiss cross in the middle and are advertised as swiss army knives. When looking at the link I did not look to see if it was "The" Swiss army knifes, just recalled the bad luck I have had with their replica's. "The" swiss army knife is a model of craftmanship and a good to have tool not only in this field but in many. It is almost as good as a handcrafted blade by Mathias Heide which is a good swiss-american name. Ginzu knifes are good also.(sign! sign!)
