It's Canon and Epson who have driven the prices for inkjet printers through the floor. I'm sure HP would have been happy to keep making money on reliable inkjet printers.

But you have to admit, inkjet is the only affordable colour option for a lot of people. Even the cheapest colour laser printers are more than practically all of the consumer inkjet printers, AFAIK.
