New Russian Hostage Crisis
Clearly the ruskies are short on experience with hostage situations.

Storming the theatre, they have apparently used a poison gas rather than the usual harmless capsicum and smoke used in the US. In their embarrassment (death toll is now up to 90 out of the 800 hostages) they refuse to disclose to medical personnel just what kind of gas was used.

I am out of the country for the duration of the Bush administration.

...that they claim to have been using some kind of "special substance" that was supposed to disable the explosives the terrorists had put in place. The Russian Vice-Minister of the Interior has said that although nobody was killed by the gas directly, this substance may have made people nauseous and thus led to several of the hostages suffocating on their own vomit.

they would have had plenty of time
to blow up the place.

I wonder at what point the death
toll becomes unnacceptable?

I thought they would all die, so 70
out of a 700 "felt" ok.

I think they screwed up in their choice of vaporware.

We'll never know until what the gas really was is revealed.
