New Hang on, there's something wrong (not really...)
"Your search - blancmange sporks "goomba birds" - did not match any documents. "

But the beauty of it is, next time Google wanders through, I guess this search will be valid. :)

Oh, and weeCodes are very groovy.
John. Busy lad.

New Problem with it
In the "Tips for New zIWeTheyUsers" [post:57396|post] there is a display problem with the "news" links. After the link, I have thre asterisks, like this:

New Footnotes...
Changed to '1' instead of '*'

And since the footnote is a link, you get a [*] after it as well.

New Re: Nope.
Clan MacNeil here, being of dubious lineage myself, (wonders how much MacNeil and Harris and Mingus and Cherokee and who knows what else have mixed into my blood.) My grandmother was, apparently, adopted (but NOT) by her foster parents. I don't know if I can explain *that* except that they must have took her in but never went through an official adoption process.

My grandmother was an illegitimate daughter of I don't know who, but my fiendish aunt is trying to trace our ancestry. :=) Seems to be a MacNeil. If anyone knows of Mingus (apparently settled Kentucky, I'd guess from the name it was German settlers) let me know. If anyone knows Harris (now *that* side of the family is gonna be hard to trace, Grandfather Edward was, um, sometimes a bit crazy, I don't have much information on that side of the family. And Harris is a pretty common name.)

Of course, MacNeil information would be welcome.

My aunt is is, least I heard, a fanatic about geneology. But then she's also into ET, Bermuda Triangle, aliens... at least geneology is real.

(parenthetical note: I do not deny strange things, but I do need a bit of hard evidence.)

We've traced the family back to the 1800's, but (as yet) I don't think we've actually traced it back to immigrants or Scotland.
New That may not help much
We've traced the family back to the 1800's, but (as yet) I don't think we've actually traced it back to immigrants or Scotland.
My mother is the geneaology nut in our family, and she has traced a few branches back that far. Problem is, the areas some of them come from were along disputed borders, so we don't exactly know what nationality to claim in our ancestry. Besides which, for a clannish people our ancestors seem to have been ... less than formal, shall we say, in choosing whom to reproduce with.

Censored. Because Karsten can't take jokes or pranks.
\r\n\r\n

No. Ask me about "Flash" at the office Friday sometime....

\r\n\r\n

I've been spending time cleaning up TWIT after Norm. I found a reference to the rubber hoses bit there going through the updates log. Tracked it down. Didn't have context. Was shooting other content, did it as well. Shot Greg a note (text: "Please don't do that"). Later noted the demonstration TWikIWeThey link in the above, prior to edits. Issue with TWiki being that a page not existing gives the option to generate a page. Requested that Scott change the link to something else (eg: FudFighters), also pointed out a couple of revisions he might want to make to his link-logic (hint: multiple webs support).

\r\n\r\n

No, Greg, I fucking love rubber hoses, come by some time & I'll demonstrate ;-) (actually, it's passibly ironic that a rubber hose comment lead to an iron fisted response...) TWIT's not topical about that, though, any more than it's Norm's personal pissing ground. The site is about technical documentation. And yes, topicality is going to steer editorial decisions. Timing in this instance was particularly bad, I'm more than mildly irked at Norm already, had a pissed off girlfriend last night (somebody was hours later than he'd hoped to be, what with work and more maintenace here), slept on the couch.

New Request for update - code and/or fixed font quotes
Edit: added link to table in question.

I'm trying to past a table in another forum, [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=102246|here], and it's using a proportional font. According to [link|http://www.citycat.ru/doc/HTML/IExplorer.30/fontfrmt.htm#FixWidth|this],
this should be fixed width
(using angle brackets) should produce:

this should be fixed width

And it does, unless the text covers more than one line. E.g.
This is a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very long sentence with many line breaks.

This gives an "Unmatched tag found" error on attempting to preview.
Buglet, or am I misusing that tag?

Also, a or similar WeeCode would be appreciated. Some of us here are novices when it comes to HTML.

Alternatively a - "This is how you do it, you hoser!" - bash upside the head would work as well. :-)

Thanks!

(Although this is more of a suspected buglet than a tip or request, I thought I'd keep it in TFNzU to remind us of some of the WeeCodes.)

Cheers,
Scott.
