But think about it. Until the last 5-10 years, anyone saying what you did would have used the word "affect". Then some copywriter realized that "imapct" had more ... impact. Now all the marketspeak uses it exclusively; they never say "affect" when "impact" can work. That, to me, qualifies it as primarily a buzzword.
