New Re: Why do some among us want to ignore the obvious ?

These articles state in a damn site more blunt terms exactly what many of us can see and read without us being CIA specialists.

Why is that Screamer & Marlowe (for Marlowe, bots are excused I guess) & others here, just shut their eyes & ears to what is so plainly obvious to so many ???.

Bush is *not* stating the facts, but distortions & in some cases outright 'pork pies' (rhyming slang). Bush is using the awful 9/11 attack to justify a *unilateral* invasion of another country. This admin is doing irreparible harm to the US image overseas. Are your domestic news organisations hiding the growing anti-US sentiment that is bubbling over in UK, Europe, Asia & Middle East ????.

That there are supposedly intelligent people among us who refuse to acknowledge this deception says a lot about how evil deeds can be carried out in the name of 'democracy' and 'just cause' when the facts and other responsible voices show the reverse is actually being done.

To those who won't accept - the point is that intelligent people need to question this admin. Those who are 100% behind Bush will deserve everthing his actions lead to.

I thought you were an Ozzie, not Cockney.

Short answer: Yes. Wouldn't want our vast unwashed to see that even our staunchest allies disagree. Might make us question our righteousness.
Those who are 100% behind Bush will deserve everthing his actions lead to.

The trouble is that those of us who aren't 100% behind Bush will also get everything his actions lead to, whether we deserve them or not!

I am blessed with a particularly good crop of crap: all 3 of my representatives are poised to vote "Yes". Damne Lieberman is the sponsor of this infamy in Senate! Not likely they'll care about my lone voice.
We have only 2 things to worry about: That things will never get back to normal, and that they already have.
New Irony abounds -
If the USSC had not foreclosed and selected this group, Lieberman would be veep.

Sorry about your local 'leaders'.

New Re: Cockney - Ozzie - Aussie
Both use rhyming slang - the Aussies inherited it from all the Cockney crims that we transported to the Penal colony that was NSW.

Aussies have extended it with some local words like "watch out for that Noah"
(Noah's Ark - Shark).

The Aussie variant is nowhere near as riich as the Cockney flavour.

Cheers Doug
(PS although actually a Kiwi, did live in London in me younger days & could "old me own wiv a cockney dahnn at've local rubbity any day". (rubbity, dervived from original slang of Rub-a-dub-dub = Pub).

The US is a depressing place, with little life and less hope, and a fearful dependence on illusions. My God how I want to talk to a woman with some sense of the real.
